A kids craft app that behaves like a studio

Crafty is an iOS studio for the household. Each week you get a small bench of projects, a list of materials you can actually find, and a place to keep the photograph when the glue dries. It is not a feed.

If you searched for a kids craft app, you probably wanted instructions you can follow at the table — not a coloring game, not fifty Pinterest tabs, not a crate that arrives when the mood has already passed. Crafty is built for that table. The App Store name is Crafty Kids. On this site we call it Crafty.

It is parent-guided. Kids may look over a shoulder. The adult stays in the room with the blades, the oven, the glass, and the hot glue. Onboarding asks how long you have and who is at the table, then starts you on one free project that fits.

What a week looks like

Discover opens on this week’s issue. A few projects. One is typically free. The rest wait behind membership. Free projects stay open after the week turns; you do not lose a make because Sunday arrived.

A weeknight might be the Paper Star Garland: heavyweight paper, eight-point stars, a doorway, about thirty minutes. A Saturday might be a pinch bowl, a pressed panel, or something from Home & Decor that you are willing to leave up. The catalog is organized the way a studio is organized — Family, Paper, Wood & Nature, Seasonal, Textile & Fiber, Wearables, Upcycle — not as a pile of “boredom busters.”

You can search. You can heart a project so it waits in Studio. You can start one and it lives on the bench until you finish it. That is the whole loop.

Four places in the app

Discover

The week, the categories, the search. If a make is already in progress, a banner takes you back to the current step. This is where you pick the window — about thirty minutes after dinner, or a Saturday with room to spread out.

Studio

In progress, saved, and finished. Finish a project and photograph it. The picture lives on your shelf. You can turn it into a card and send it — Messages, the family thread, wherever you already talk. Until you share a card, the photo stays with the household studio.

Shop

Materials from the projects you queued roll into one shopping list. Anyone can check things off at home. Members can open an Amazon cart when the list has links. Amazon is a convenience, not a promise that every bottle of glue is in stock.

You

Membership, household sharing, notifications if you want a quiet nudge, and a desk to write us. Sign in with Apple or email so the studio, the photos, and the list follow the adult who keeps the account.

Crafty does not run on Android. There are no kid logins. There is no printable PDF mill. If you need a mailed crate of specialty parts, that is a different product — we wrote an honest comparison of craft kits vs a craft app.

Who it is for

The adult at the table. Mixed ages are normal. “With kids” keeps steps short and honest. “Just me” is the same app at a quieter pace. Either way, the care note in every project is the same: use tools as they were meant to be used. Keep blades, heat, and small parts away from anyone who should not have them.

Membership is one plan for the household. The yearly plan can include Apple Family Sharing for up to six people. A 7-day trial exists when Apple has one on the plan. We do not invent prices here; the App Store is the source.

How Crafty helps, without a pitch deck

The making still happens off the phone. After you read a step, put it face-down. The app is the recipe card.

Questions parents actually ask

Is Crafty a kids craft app for Android?

No. Crafty is iOS only. In the App Store it is listed as Crafty Kids.

Is the Crafty Kids app free?

The app is free to download. One project is typically free in a given week, and free projects stay open. The rest of the library is membership. See the App Store for current plans.

Do kids need their own accounts?

No. An adult in the household signs in. Yearly membership can include Apple Family Sharing for up to six. The adult keeps scissors, heat, and glass.
